Was the NFL 2020 Draft good for Green Bay Packer Football?

The 2020 NFL draft was not conventional to say the least. For many different reasons first, one was the obvious the fact that it was online and through zoom calls instead of in person. But the second reason was not as obvious to most fans.  of course, I am talking about Green Bay Packers football being changed in a direction for the perceivable future, The drafting of Jordan love with the 26th overall pick. This puts Green Bay Packer football in a position similar to what they have done in the past when they drafted Aaron Rodgers just 15 years ago. However, I think this time is it a little different, as the Packers traded up to get love instead of letting him fall to them.  Green Bay Packers football may be just doing what it knows best and planning for the future, however many feels that they did not address the present well enough. Personally, I think that Green Bay definitely could have taken love in the first round but should have taking a play maker somewhere after that. As we all know Green Bay Packers football has been struggling lately when it comes to wide receivers, Davante Adams are only real threat. The other issue facing Green Bay Packers football is the contracts in play. Aaron Rodgers is on a four-year deal in which if Green Bay gets rid of him in the next two years, they will take a 50 million plus cap hit. In year three it dips to around 10 million or less. The other issue is Jordan Love’s contract is a four-year rookie deal with a five-year add-on available. What that means is if the Packers keep Rogers for all four years of his contract Jordan Love will be on his fifth year option, and all things going well he will perform exceptionally and we will inevitably have to pay him a lot after that fifth year. What Green Bay Packers football is missing out on is what a lot of teams are capitalizing on, having a high caliber quarterback and a rookie deal allows you to build your team and spend more money in free agency. Green Bay Packer football will not be able to do this because of the Rodgers contract.
