This Tweet came directly from the NFL official Twitter page. Personally, it got me thinking. With everything that happened in the NFL draft this year, who is going to be the Rookie of the Year? I feel that the rookie of the year depends on the team the rookies play on, as well as their individual performance. For instance, if Joe Burrow has a great season, but the Cincinnati Bengals have a terrible record, they get the number one pick and he has no shot at winning. I feel that the front runner right now is Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins, because he has a somewhat decent team with the addition of Matt Breida. I also feel this way because I am not confident in all of the pieces surrounding Joe Burrow. I will say that drafting Tee Higgans and resigning AJ Green is a big deal. However, their offensive line and defense are too all over the place for me to be confident. If we are going by just the roster around them, then Justin Herbert wins hands down. The Los Angeles Chargers rosters is loaded with talent. Their defense is great when healthy. Keenan Allen and Mike Willams are a great wide receiver duo. My fear with Justin Herbert is that he may have to sit behind Tyrod Taylor. I feel their offensive line is really rough. One thing all of these teams have in common is, they all have bad offensive lines. The Miami Dolphins addressed this issue in free agency as well as the NFL draft. Therefore, I feel Tua Tagovailoa has the best chance to win Rookie of the Year based on talent as well as the talent around him. This will be enhanced with the overall improvement that the team will grow into in the upcoming year.
